Good morning!
Greetings in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

For he does not know what is to be, for who can tell him how it will be?  (Ecclesiates 8:7)

We all think about our future, plan for future, and diligently work for the plan to have a better future.   Sure, all of us should strive for a better future.   However, in this process, we easily fall into a trap – we constantly make a value judgment on everything around us based on our own value set by our own plan and its execution.  If an event helps for us to follow the plan, then it is good.  If not, it is bad.   Surprisingly this simple and elementary logic prevails in our lives, which dictates how we react and respond.   However, when we feel off one layer, we immediately see a fundamental flaw:  how we know something good now will continue bringing a good thing in future.  In reality, it can turn into bad even tomorrow.   We don’t know nor control our future.    Thus, people say:  “every silver lining has a cloud”, and “every cloud has a silver lining; silver lining; blessing in disguise” to tame our frustration when things do not pan out as we expect.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.(James 4:13-14)

James warned us the same pitfall that we easily fall into.   We lay out dots, and connect them without knowing what tomorrow will bring.  We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer.  (Proverbs 16:1) James added one more chilling fact: each one of us is a just mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.    Even so, we forget this reality, plan as if we live forever, and pursue whatever seem good in our eyes (Judges 21:25)

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36)

Thus, Jesus asks us — stop and think what we are really toiling.   Are we working for  what we can see only?   What we can see is temporary, what we cannot see is eternal (2  Corinthians 4:18).   Everything that we can see will surely disappear because it is visible, but something invisible will stay forever.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.   (John 14:6)

Eternity belongs to God.   Nobody can get to the eternity, because we are mere mortals, who can comprehend and understand what we can see and touch.   Jesus said” I am the way”.  He is the way to God.  He is the truth, and in Him, we have an eternal life.  Yes, we need to come to Jesus, who is the way, and receive the eternal live.   Then we follow Him by  following the footsteps of Jesus Christ while always fixing our eyes to Him.

If a good thing happens to us, then look at Him, and praise Him.  If a bad thing happens to us, then look at Him, and give thanks to Him.   If we get a sunny day, look at Him, and praise Him.   If we get a stormy day, look at Him, and give thanks to Him.  Why? We don’t have an ability to tell which one is good or bad, and to predict tomorrow’s weather in our life.   One thing sure is that God loves us, and gives us the best at the right time and the  moment.

In fact, God has a unique plan for each one of us.   His patience is unfathomable.   We are debt, but He never gives up.   He is patiently telling us His love story in our lives till we understand the bigger picture of His, which is far beyond what we can see and touch.   This treasure is hidden to those who don’t know Him, but it is fully open to those who truly love Him and follow Him everyday regardless of our life situation.    He renews our soul and mind every morning, and leads us in paths of righteousness.   He makes us draw nearer everyday, and experience a deeper relationship with Him in every situation because He is our True and Loving Father.  Praise Him, whose love and mercy endure forever!

Let’s continue praying before God to increase our little faith so that we can completely trust and praise Him in all circumstances.  This is a sweat relationship with Him, which cannot be understood by those who don’t know Him personally.   Praise Him.  He name will be glorified from now and forever!
